Gov. Pence And Wife Travel To Virginia To See Son Graduate Basic Training

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and his wife have traveled to Virginia to see their son graduate from basic training for Marine Corps officers.

The governor's office says 2nd Lt. Michael J. Pence was scheduled to take part in Wednesday's ceremonies at the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia. The younger Pence is next heading to flight school at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida for training as a Marine Corps pilot.

Michael Pence graduated from Purdue University last year. The governor and first lady Karen Pence also have two adult daughters.

They are scheduled back in Indiana on Thursday.
