(SHELBYVILLE) - Police in a city southeast of Indianapolis say drivers should call them when they see stranded motorists rather than stopping after a good Samaritan was carjacked.
Shelbyville police say the victim had left work in the early morning of Aug. 28 and saw a car stopped on the side of the road with its hazard lights on. Lt. Michael Turner says two men told the victim their battery had died, and he went to get jumper cables out of his trunk.
Turner says one of the men then put a gun to the victim's side, and the suspects took his wallet and drove off in his car.
Police say the suspects were driving a silver or gray Ford Taurus.
