Last updated on Wednesday, September 30, 2015

(COLUMBUS) - Police in Columbus arrested three people after an attempted armed robbery at a gas station over the weekend.

Officers were dispatched to the Marathon station at 1105 Washington St. around 11:50 p.m. Sunday. A clerk said a woman entered the store with a knife and demanded money. She ran off after the clerk refused to give it to her.

Police reviewed surveillance footage from the incident, which showed a white Oldsmobile pull into the parking lot and drop the woman off at the gas station. Around 3:30 a.m. Monday, officers located the vehicle seen in the footage parked at 8th and Pearl streets.

The officer talked to three people inside the car, and said their stories were inconsistent. They identified Rachael Roberts, 20, Columbus, as the person who tried to rob the gas station. She was arrested on charges of attempted armed robbery and battery on a police officer.

Two other people with Roberts, 23-year-old Ashley Allman of Elizabethtown and 27-year-old Anthony Walker of Columbus, were also taken into custody. Allman was charged with assisting a criminal and disorderly conduct. Walker was arrested on a count of assisting a criminal. All three were taken to the Bartholomew County Jail.
