Last updated on Monday, September 14, 2015

(BARTHOLOMEW CO.) - An 11-month-old baby girl is back home safe with her mother after being taken by a suspect who is now in police custody.

WTHR reports, for hours, the girl's mother and Bartholomew County sheriff's deputies feared the worst Friday. The sheriff put the word out about Myles Crenshaw, who was possibly armed and suspected of taking Kairo Berry, 11 months old.

Friday afternoon, deputies alerted the media about the baby's disappearance. Word of the alleged kidnapping spread quickly on social media, with family and friends sharing pictures of the girl. Some posted photos of Crenshaw.

Deputies warned that Crenshaw might be carrying a weapon. Then, by around 3:00 pm Friday, good news arrived. Deputies announced that the baby had been found safe.

Crenshaw remains in custody at the Bartholomew County Jail.
