Notre Dame Warns About Counterfeit Tickets For Texas Game

Last updated on Tuesday, August 25, 2015

(SOUTH BEND) - The University of Notre Dame is warning fans that it has received reports and evidence of counterfeit tickets being sold for the season-opening football game against Texas on September 5.

Associate athletics director Rob Kelly says counterfeit tickets aren't unusual, but the number of reports the school is receiving and how far before the game they are being reported is unusual. The university recommends that people who suspect they have counterfeit tickets should contact their local police. The investigating law enforcement agency then can contact the Notre Dame Counterfeit Ticket Task Force. You can also call (574) 631-5555 and ask for Capt. Rick Miller.

The university says clues to counterfeit tickets include fuzzy printing, rough cuts or perforations, mismatched fonts or the absence of a three-dimensional shamrock hologram with Fighting Irish leprechauns.
