Man Sentenced To 60 Years In Sisters' Stabbing Death

Last updated on Thursday, August 27, 2015

(ANGOLA) - A judge has sentenced a northeastern Indiana man to 60 years in prison for the January murder of his sister.

Steuben Superior Judge William Fee on Tuesday sentenced 49-year-old Jeffrey Peppler of Angola to the maximum term called for in a plea agreement the defendant made with prosecutors.

Peppler last month pleaded guilty in the stabbing death of 52-year-old Paige Peppler. A charge of attempted murder against the defendant's mother, 72-year-old Linda Peppler, was dismissed.

The Herald Republican reports that Fee characterized Peppler as an aggressor who terrorized the household.

Peppler said he was sorry for his crimes and that he should have moved out of the household.

Court documents said Peppler returned home after a night of drinking and attacked his mother and sister.
