Just A Portion Of The Jared Foundation Money Went To Cause

Last updated on Thursday, August 27, 2015

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Tax documents from former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle’s charity exposed how donation money was spent.

The recently pled guilty to child porn and sex abuse charges.

CNN reports that tax records filed for The Jared Foundation show it raised $650,000 over five years, but less than $146,000 went to causes to fight childhood obesity, the group's stated mission.

The foundation paid more to its director, who was arrested on child porn charges himself.

Before he was fired, Fogle's Subway gig earned him several million dollars, but records show he donating little of his own money to the charity that bore his name.

Part of Fogle's plea deal requires he pay $100,000 to 14 victims before serving five to 12 years in prison.
