Hoosier Lottery Promotes Responsible Gaming Education Week August 2-9

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Responsible Gaming Education Week, an annual event sponsored by the American Gaming Association and recognized by the Hoosier Lottery, intends to bring awareness of problem gambling to industry employees, retailers and customers.

The Hoosier Lottery will promote responsible gaming August 2 through 9 with employee training to equip employees with information related to problem gambling behaviors and resources.

The Hoosier Lottery's website, www.hoosierlottery.com, includes links to helpful information, such as how to spot warning signs of gambling addiction and resources available to players experiencing problems.

Hoosier Lottery players needing help with problem gaming can call 1-800-994-8448, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The phone number appears on the responsible gaming logo that is on the back of all Hoosier Lottery tickets and on marketing materials.

The Hoosier Lottery achieved the World Lottery Association's Level 3 Certification in 2014. As part of the accreditation, the Hoosier Lottery is committed to promoting awareness through events such as Responsible Gaming Education Week. The Hoosier Lottery partnered with Ivy Tech Community College to launch a FREE Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on financial literacy in February. Hoosier Lottery winners are encouraged to take the FREE online course and it is available to all Indiana adults at learnfinancialliteracy.com.
