$87K Settlement Reached Over Newborn Death At Daycare

Last updated on Tuesday, August 4, 2015

(CARMEL) - The state has agreed to pay more than $87,000 to settle a lawsuit in the death of a 5-month old boy at a Carmel day care.

The boy died at an unlicensed day care owned by Stacey Cox. The parents say that he died as the result of being left in an unsafe sleeping area without the attention of any adults or the presence of a baby monitor.

Cox and her daughter were sentenced to time in prison.
