Utility Crews Working To Restore Power Following Thunderstorms

Last updated on Tuesday, July 14, 2015

(UNDATED) - Close to 60 thousand Hoosiers remain without power after severe thunderstorms swept through the state.

Utility crews from Nashville, Tennessee are helping restore power in some of the impacted areas.

Strong wind gusts and unrelenting rain pummeled Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson and Marion counties Monday afternoon and then again, early this morning.

The National Weather Service is expected to investigate a possible tornado touchdown in Tippecanoe County.

The radar indicated there was some rotation 12 miles northwest of Lafayette at 9:01 p.m., prompting a Tornado Warning.
