State Fair Looking To Hire More Than 100 Temporary Workers

Last updated on Thursday, July 9, 2015

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana State Fair is just about a month away, but the organization is still looking to hire temporary workers ahead of its big event.

The State Fair is looking for more than 100 people to work as parking attendants, security guards, ticket-takers, and information booth staff.

It takes more than 1,000 temporary workers to staff the Indiana State Fair.

All of the temporary positions pay minimum wage, but fair officials say there are other benefits that come along with these jobs.

"It's a great foot in the door to check out the state fair and potentially start a career, we have half of our full-time employees that started either with part-time jobs or internships," said Lesley Gordon, the community outreach manager for the Indiana State Fair.

You can apply online to work at this year's state fair or you can fill out an application in-person at the Indiana State Fairgrounds inside the employment office.

The Indiana State Fair runs from August 7-23, applicants should be available to work during that entire time.
