(INDIANAPOLIS) - IMPD has fired a chaplain after he admitted to an affair with a prostitute.
Investigators say the prostitute claims Chaplain John Robert Fiers even showed off his badge during their encounters at the Motel 6 in Castleton. Fiers worked out of an office at IMPD Headquarters for several years.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office filed charges against Fiers, which include him patronizing a prostitute. Court documents say he met with a known prostitute at the motel on at least three occasions.
Joe Carnague, Motel 6 security director, lives on the motel property and helped police make a number of arrests linked to illegal activity.
Intimidation is also among the charges listed against Fiers. A woman staying at the motel told investigators he flashed his police department badge during one of the encounters at the motel.
A judge has set a court date for the chaplain at the end of August.
