(FISHERS) - Fishers police have arrested a woman after a two vehicle crash that sent a woman and six children to the hospital.

The crash happened between a Chrysler van and a Chevy Impala around 7:30 p.m. Monday at 126th Street and Southeastern Parkway. All six children, ranging from 5-16 years in age, were riding the van, which rolled several times. One child was thrown from the van in the crash.

The six children and the woman inside the van were all taken to Methodist Hospital. There is no word on the severity of any of the injuries. There were three people in the Impala. None of them were uninjured.

Officers say that the Impala was eastbound on Southeastern Parkway when it lost control and left the roadway. The car then came back on to the roadway and crossed the center line, crashing in to the westbound van.

Southeastern Parkway was closed in between Blessed Mother Boulevard and 126th Street for over three hours.

Three people were inside the Impala. None of them were injured.

21-year-old Carter Lynn James faces two felony counts of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury and one count of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. James is currently held in the Hamilton County Jail.
