Hampsch was working as the youth pastor for the 1st Baptist Church in Vincennes at the time of the incident. Hampsch is still facing a sexual misconduct charge in Knox County and has a September trial date in that case.

As part of the guilty plea, Hampsch could spend up to 6 to 10 years in jail.
