Eight Arrested During Operation Double Trouble In Dubois County

Last updated on Friday, June 5, 2015

(DUBOIS CO.) - The Dubois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announced eight people were arrested in a large arrest raid staged Thursday morning during Operation Double Trouble in which law enforcement conduct numerous undercover drug buys.

According to a press release, Operation Double Trouble began in June of 2014. The operation initiated by Deputy Prosecutor Beth Sermersheim and Dubois County Narcotics Officer John Anderson developed informants through street level arrests made by uniformed patrol officers and Anderson. Those informants made undercover drug buys of meth, heroin, MDMA, and Schedule II, III and IV controlled substances. As a result of the covert investigations, felony arrest warrants for drug dealing charges were obtained by the Dubois County Prosecutor's Office.

Those arrested include:

24-year-old Bryce E. Sadler of Jasper - Level 5 felony dealing in methamphetamine. Sadler was served with his arrest warrant on May 21, 2015, after he was arrested in Jasper on unrelated criminal charges -- A misdemeanor possession of a handgun without a license and Class A misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. Sadler appeared in the Dubois County Superior Court for an initial hearing on his new dealing in methamphetamine charge on May 26. The State of Indiana requested that a bond be set in the amount of $10,000 cash only, but the court only imposed a bond of $2,000 cash. Sadler remains incarcerated at this time and is set for a pre-trial hearing on June 9 at 10 a.m.

According to the prosecuting attorney's office, law enforcement officials want to send a message to drug dealers, as well as to the community as a whole, that they are not passively watching drug dealing go on in Dubois County. They are actively pursuing the people who are selling drugs in the area and will continue to do so.

Operation Double Trouble is ongoing at this time and additional arrests are expected in the coming weeks.

The operation's name was chosen due to it being the second large operation of its kind in Dubois County.
