Last updated on Friday, May 29, 2015

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A woman accused of driving drunk and causing a deadly accident has taken a plea deal.

22-year-old Paige Byers was charged with two counts of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing death and two counts of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing death with a blood alcohol concentration over 0.08.

As a result of the plea deal, Byers will serve one year in jail and then she will be on home detention for three years.

Whitney Miller and her stepdad David Foster were killed in the head-on crash on the northeast side last August.

Court documents showed that Byers told police she went for a drive to "clear her head" after an argument with her boyfriend. Byers admitted she had "three shots of tequila, two shots of rum, and a half of a beer" between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at a concert.

A blood test showed her BAC was 0.10.
