Interstate Traffic Change Near Edinburgh

Last updated on Thursday, May 7, 2015

(EDINBURGH) - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has initiated a cross-median traffic pattern on Interstate 65 in Johnson and Shelby counties.

The pattern routes one lane of northbound traffic to the southbound inside lane just north of State Road 252 near Edinburgh.

A second I-65 northbound lane continues on the northbound side in the inside (left) lane.

INDOT Spokesman Harry Maginity says that two southbound I-65 lanes are open to motorists in the southbound right lane and on the southbound right shoulder, which has been reinforced and widened to carry traffic loads. He notes that eleven foot width restrictions are being enforced.

Maginity says the cross-median traffic pattern on I-65 runs for 8.2 miles, ending at S.R. 44 near Franklin.
