Man Crashes Into Tower After Bee Stings Him In Face While Driving On I-65

Last updated on Tuesday, May 19, 2015

(GREENWOOD) - A man driving through Greenwood from Illinois crashed Sunday afternoon after a bee distracted him.

At around 12:30 p.m. a man in his 40s was traveling southbound on I-65.

A bee flew into his SUV, went inside his sunglasses, and stung him in the eyebrow.

The bee sting caused him to veer off the interstate at the Greenwood exit, and he slammed into an INDOT camera tower.

The tower fell over and landed on top of the SUV.

The driver got out on his own with only a few scrapes and a bee sting, of course.

He was transported to Methodist Hospital for superficial injuries.

State police and Greenwood Police assisted with traffic and the investigation.
