Last updated on Friday, April 3, 2015

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Teppanyaki just celebrated its grand opening on Friday. However, by Tuesday afternoon the restaurant in the 9000 block of East Washington was facing a major crisis.

According to police, one of the restaurant's waitresses was accused of trying to get more than just a tip by ripping off customers.

Police say 32-year old Meirong Lin is accused of using a skimming device to record credit card information of customers. An alert customer noticed the plot and told the manager who called police. Lin was later arrested.

Managers at the restaurant declined to talk on camera, but said they are working with police to help with the investigation.

24-Hour News 8 discovered Lin has worked for the restaurant for only three days, she was currently working through a probationary period to see if she would be successful at the job.

It's unknown if Lin has other victims. Marion County Prosecutors asked for 72-hour continuance to determine if Lin should face more charges or if she has more victims.
