Last updated on Thursday, April 2, 2015

(INDIANAPOLIS) - In a random act of violence one year ago Wednesday, an expectant father was shot and killed.

Nathan Trapuzzano was on a morning walk on west 16th Street when he was shot and killed by 16-year-old Simeon Adams. Adams took off after the shooting.

Adams' trial is scheduled for June.

Trapuzzano's widow gave birth to a baby girl a few weeks after Nathan's murder.

She continues working with lawmakers to beef up gun laws involving juveniles.
