Lawmakers Face Long-List Of Unresolved Issues

Last updated on Tuesday, April 14, 2015

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana lawmakers are returning to the Statehouse with a long list of unresolved issues with less than three weeks remaining in this year’s session of the General Assembly.

Legislators face possible debates over the new state budget and a proposal allowing the removal of Democratic state schools Superintendent Glenda Ritz as leader of the state Board of Education.

The House and Senate face a Wednesday deadline to keep many bills alive ahead of their April 29 adjournment deadline.

Contentious debates are expected over proposed changes to local school funding that could shift tens of millions of dollars away from many urban and rural districts with shrinking enrollments to those in growing suburban communities.
