(LOUISVILLE, KY.) - An Indianapolis man has been arrested after Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officials say he tried to sell an alligator to an undercover officer.

It happened Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m. on Rock Creek Drive.

According to an arrest report, 35-year-old Jose G. Diaz Grant transported an alligator from Indiana to Kentucky for the purposes of selling it.

"Alligators are an exotic species prohibited in Kentucky," the report states, and Diaz Grant did not have a permit to possess or transport the alligator.

Authorities also found a .22 caliber revolver in Diaz Grant's pocket, according to the arrest report.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of propagation and holding of wildlife without a permit, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
