Terre Haute Firefighter Retires After Drug Allegations

(TERRE HAUTE) - A Terre Haute firefighter that has been under investigation is retiring.

WTHI reports that an investigation concluded Terre Haute Fire Captain Jeff Stevens violated criminal code, which stemmed from allegations of drug use.

Terre Haute Fire Department Chief Jeff Fisher placed Stevens on administrative leave after receiving a call Stevens was doing drugs.

Stevens was set to appear before the merit board later this month. His retirement eliminates the need for the hearing.

Steven's retirement was effective starting immediately.

According to Chief Fisher, Stevens will receive pension from the city.
