(INDIANAPOLIS) - A man’s body was found on the city’s near-north side early Sunday, prompting a death investigation by the Indianapolis Metro Police Department.
Just after 1:30 a.m., police were sent to the 2600 block of Burton Ave, near the intersection of West Roache Street on reports of a disturbance.
When police arrived they found the body of a man who apparently suffered severe head and back injuries.
The victim, identified as 41-year-old Christopher Baymon was pronounced dead at the scene.
IMPD homicide detectives remained at the scene to gather more details and urged anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8477), or text "INDYCS" plus tip information to 274637 (CRIMES).
