Man Killed In Shooting Near Indianapolis State Fairgrounds

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A man was killed in a shooting early Sunday outside a home in the Fall Creek neighborhood, just blocks from the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Just after 3 a.m., Indianapolis Metro Police were sent to the 1100 block of Fairfield Avenue on reports of shots fired.

When police arrived at the home they found a man with an apparent gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's identity was not released pending notification of the family.

The incident was the second homicide investigation for IMPD Sunday morning following another man's death in the 2600 block of Burton Avenue.

The shooting remained under investigation and police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477). Callers may also text "INDYCS" plus tip information to 274637 (CRIMES).
