Irate Driver Stops Traffic And Punches Window Of Another Motorist

(VIGO CO.) - Monday morning, Indiana State Troopers were at the intersection of U.S. 41 or Third and Chestnut streets when they heard screeching motor vehicle tires.

The troopers then noticed a 1996 Chevrolet GEO Prism stopped in the far right lane of northbound U.S.41 about a mile south of Chestnut Street.

The driver appeared to be arguing with a female passenger.

The Prism then began moving north again and ran a red light at Chestnut Street.

The driver of the Prism then stopped the vehicle and exited and walked behind his vehicle to a 2005 Chrysler van and began yelling and then striking the driver's side window of the van.

At which time, Troopers Robertson and Shelton immediately arrested 28-year-old Nicholas Huff of Terre Haute.

The distraught 41-year-old female driver of the van. The woman told police she had not been involved in a confrontation with the driver of the Prism prior to this event.

A female passenger in the Prism was not charged.

Assisting at the scene were ISP Troopers Brandon Mullen and Joe Watts.
