(INDIANAPOLIS) - The DJ Center for Youth, Inc. in collaboration with the Independent Owner of Subway Restaurants located at 10th and Country Club and 160 E. Market Street will be awarding five scholarships at $100 each.
Applications have been sent out to school corporations across the state and are available through sending an email to djcenter4youth@yahoo.com. The application deadline must be received by Friday, May 29, 2015.
To date, the scholarship has benefited more than 25 students. Each student has been able to use their monetary award to put toward application fees, books, testing costs, or other costs associated with applying to college. The student must have at least three of the five requirements: maintain a 3.0 G.P.A, participate in at least one academic and/or extra curricular activity, possess a part-time job, take care of a family member(s) and/or extended family member(s) and is either a high school junior or senior.
DJ Center for Youth, Inc. evolved out of a scholarship awarded to Devina Jani when she graduated from Ben Davis High School in 2000. Devina received this scholarship for her commitment to her family and friends and for her unwavering dedication to serve her community.
