Vincennes Police Department Purchase Two New Police K-9s

(VINCENNES) - The Vincennes Police Department adding two new K-9 units to the force.

Police Chief Dusty Luking says the department purchased two police dogs with funding the department receives from the federal drug seizure program.

The dogs cost $7,000 apiece. They become the first active K-9 units Vincennes has had in more than two years. The city retired police dog Fritz in 2012.

Luking expects the K-9′s will start patrolling with their handlers sometime next wee.
