Man Convicted Of Drugging, Raping Unconscious Woman

Last updated on Monday, February 9, 2015

(LOS ANGELES) - A 75-year-old convicted killer from Indiana has been found guilty of drugging a woman unconscious and raping her over two days in his Southern California desert trailer.

Prosecutors say Arthur Lindsey was convicted Friday of rape and other crimes involving an unconscious person.

Parole officers making a surprise visit discovered Lindsey sexually assaulting the 29-year-old woman at his high-desert trailer in June 2013, according to authorities. City News Service reports the woman told authorities she accepted a drink and a ride in Lindsey's BMW but didn't consciously take the opiates and other drugs found in her system.

Lindsey was convicted in 1965 of raping and murdering an Indiana woman. He spent more than three decades behind bars.

He could face life in prison for this new conviction.
