(BLACKFORD CO.) - A Portland, Indiana man was charged Sunday in the shooting deaths of a Hartford City man and his daughter.
59-year-old Charles Whittington,is accused of shooting 40-year-old Shane Paul Williamson and his 14-year-old daughter, Katelin, Thursday at the Hartford City apartment building where they lived.
Shane was shot several times and found in the apartment complex's parking lot around 9:15 a.m. Katelin, who was shot once in the head, was found later inside their apartment. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Whittington is facing preliminarily charges of two counts of murder.
Police have not released any motive or possible connection between the two families.
