Daughter Of City-County Councilor Arrested For Stealing Taxpayer Funds

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The daughter of an Indianapolis City-County Council member is accused of stealing taxpayer money to buy cocaine.

29-year-old Raven Harvell is charged with felony theft and official misconduct for allegedly stealing $58,000.

The former Washington Township Smalls Claims Court employee was responsible for collecting payments made to the court.

Harvell admitted to Indianapolis Police detectives that she took the money due to a drug addiction.

Harvell is the daughter of council member Joe Simpson. She is set to appear in court on today.
