Weapons Taken During Rash Of Vehicle Burglaries In Columbus

(COLUMBUS) - A firearm was among several items taken during a rash of vehicle break-ins near 17th and Gladstone Avenue in Columbus.

According to Indiana State Police Investigator Joe Loyd, during the early morning hours of Wednesday, an Indiana State Police badge and identification credentials were taken from a vehicle along with the weapon during the break-ins.

Investigator Loyd stated that the vehicle was secured at the time of the break-in.

No other owners of ransacked vehicles in the area reported any items missing from their cars.

Investigator Loyd stated that this investigation is on-going. No suspect has been developed at this time as leads are being pursued. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact Investigator Loyd at the Versailles Post (812-689-5000).
