Last updated on Monday, January 26, 2015

(NORTH WEBSTER) - Two North Webster men jailed for operating ATV’s while intoxicated on Webster Lake.

Indiana Conservation Officers arrested 40-year-old Ronald Haskins and 24-year-old Zachary Ducey, 24, for operating an all terrain vehicle (ATV) while intoxicated Saturday night.

last evening (January 24, 2015) at approximately 11:30pm.

Officer Tyler Brock received a complaint of two ATVs operating recklessly on Webster Lake at 11:30 p.m. The officer located Haskins and Ducey a short time later near EMS W 30 Lane.

Officer Brock during his investigation suspected the two of alcohol consumption and determined by a certified breath test that Haskins had a BAC of .143 and Ducey had a BAC of .128.

Indiana Conservation Officers want to remind the public that operating an ATV while consuming alcohol is an illegal and very dangerous act. When that is coupled with operating the ATV on a frozen lake the danger level is greatly enhanced.

Please always wear your helmets, seat belts, and other necessary protective gear while operating or a passenger on an ATV. These criminal charges are preliminary and both men are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Officer Brock was assisted at the scene by officers from the North Webster PD, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept., and the Indiana State Police.
