Pacers Valued At $830M By Forbes

Last updated on Thursday, January 22, 2015

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Pacers nearly doubled in value in Forbes’ annual survey of NBA franchises.

This year's rankings valued the Pacers at $830 million, compared to 2014's $475 million. For Indiana, the survey cited the team's second consecutive run to the Eastern Conference finals which led to a 15 percent increase in average home attendance during the 2013-14 season to 17,500 per game. The Pacers also posted the biggest gain in local cable ratings in the NBA. The team averaged a 4.19 rating on Fox Sports Midwest, double the rating for the 2012-13 season.

While a nearly 75 percent jump in value may seem incredible, it was actually closer to par for the course for the league. Despite the massive leap, the Pacers only rose one spot in the rankings - from 22 to 21 - and are still below the league's average value, now at $1.1 billion.
