Nine Arrested After Drug Sweep In Scott County

(AUSTIN) - Wednesday around noon, a sweep of alleged drug dealers in the Austin area resulted in nine arrests. The sweep was the result of an undercover operation conducted by Indiana State Police Detectives in the Austin area over the last several months.

State troopers, along with Austin City Police Officers and officers from the U. S. Marshal's Great Lakes Region Fugitive Task Force, executed arrest warrants on seven defendants that were allegedly dealing in controlled substances. Along with the arrest warrants served two others were arrested and charged with visiting a common nuisance.

All defendants were incarcerated at the Scott County Jail awaiting their first court appearance.
