(TERRE HAUTE) - A Terre Haute man admits to killing his girlfriend’s dog.
Dimitry Datig pleaded guilty to torturing or mutilating a vertebrate animal. Terre Haute Police arrested him after finding the body of a six month old pit bull in a garbage can.
Datig's girlfriend at the time told police he had wanted to get rid of the dog for some time.
A judge sentenced Ddatig to one year in work release, followed by one year in-home detention.
