Battery Case Turns Into Murder Investigation

(CLARK CO.) - Thursday afternoon, 4-year-old Hayden Dukes died at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville.

His father, 27-year-old Christopher Bruck, is in jail after he allegedly beat Hayden and now could face possible murder charges.

An autopsy will be performed this morning at the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville. When the autopsy is completed more information will be released.

Bruck was arrested after Indiana State Police were called to Kosair Children's Hospital to after Hayden was taken to the hospital for treatments he suffered at Bruck's home in the 20000 block of Campbell Street in Underwood.

At the hospital, police spoke to Brusk, who told them he became upset with his son and struck him. Later that afternoon, Scott County EMS were called to Bruck's home and transported the child to the Scott County Hospital for treatment. Hayden, who suffered severe injuries, was then transferred to Kosiar.

After Burck admitted to injuring his son he was taken back to the Clark County Jail in Indiana, where he was arrested on felony charges of aggravated battery and neglect of dependent resulting in serious bodily injury.
