State Fair Stage Collapse Victim Suing The State

Last updated on Monday, December 15, 2014

(STATEHOUSE) - An Indiana State Fair goer is suing the state.

The Indiana Court of Appeals will hear the case today of Jordyn Polet, who was injured in the 2011 stage collapse at the fairgrounds.

The state argued it was immune from liability because the Indiana Tort Claims Act limits the State's liability to $5 million and that amount had already been paid to others. Polet challenged that immunity and the constitutionality of the liability cap.
