Last updated on Wednesday, December 10, 2014

(FRANKLIN) - Nearly 140 Indiana National Guard Soldiers are back home in time for the holidays.

The 1413th Engineer Company returned yesterday after a nine month deployment to Afghanistan.

The group was welcomed home by a large crowd of family and friends at the Johnson County Armory in Franklin. Major General Martin Umbarger was on scene to welcome them home as well.

The company wasn't expected to return until sometime in the early spring.
