First Responder Injured Driving To Fatal Car Accident

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis Metro police are investigating two accidents needing extraction, one fatal and one involving the responding EMS team.

Officers were dispatched to the scene of a head on collision on Mitthoefer just before 3 p.m.

A driver was trapped in their car after losing control of their vehicle and hitting an oncoming car. That driver was extracted and pronounced dead at the scene.

While responding to the scene, Squad 10 was involved in an accident with entrapment when the woman in the vehicle in front of them failed to pull to the right and u-turned in front of the squad.

The woman was taken to Eskenazai Hospital in serious condition.

All of the Squad 10 members were checked out and released without injuries.
