Expert: Americans Should Be On Guard Following Terror Threats

Last updated on Tuesday, December 2, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indiana-based international security and terrorism expert says terror groups are trying to change the behavior of Americans by threatening attacks on U.S. soil.

Peter Beering of Indianapolis is speaking out following FBI reports that ISIS has been planning to recruit people living in America to attack military people in their communities.

The feds have urged military members to edit their social media accounts. Beering says this is all in response to U.S. military campaigns against ISIS and others in Syria and Iraq.

Beering says that the slow economic recovery makes for fertile recruiting ground for terrorist groups - like ISIS and Al Qaeda - that are seeking disillusioned young Americans. He says it's best for Americans to remain on guard and report anything suspicious, especially during this holiday time.
