Court Of Appeals Affirms Goffinet's Conviction In Wife's Death

Last updated on Wednesday, December 3, 2014

(EVANSVILLE) - The Indiana Court of Appeals affirms the conviction of an Evansville man in the stabbing death of his wife.

Anthony Goffinet was convicted and sentenced in December 2013 to 115 years in prison for killing his estranged, and pregnant wife, Kathleen after she got off work at Lone Star Steakhouse.

Goffinet's attorneys appealed the conviction, saying, among other things, a witness was improperly cross examined.

The court of appeals disagreed.

He was sentenced to 65 years for murder and the judge enhanced the sentence adding thirty years for being an habitual offender and twenty years because the murder caused the termination of a pregnancy.
