Suspicious Vehicle Leads To Drug Arrest

(COLUMBUS) - Columbus and Indiana State police arrested a Hope man Thursday night on drug charges after a suspicious truck stopped in a parking lot at 11th and Washington streets.

Sgt. Matt Harris, spokesman for the Columbus Police Department, said that a member of the Columbus community policing unit saw the truck stop in the parking lot at about 11:30 p.m. and the driver flee. A search of the truck found narcotics, Harris said.

35-year-old Woody D. Bryant of Hope was arrested on a Bartholomew County warrant for failure to comply, and on preliminary charges of driving while suspended with a prior conviction, possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.
