(VIGO CO.) - A Vigo County Deputy was on patrol early Tuesday morning on Rosedale Road when he found a red Pontiac Gran Prix in the field.

Officials report Rachel N. Camp of Terre Haute was traveling south on Rosedale Road when the vehicle left the road and struck an electricity pole.

Camp and her six-year-old daughter were the only two in the car at the time of the crash.

Camp had stated she was on her way to the Jiffy Mart on Lafayette Avenue when she hit a slick spot on the road. During an investigation it was determined there was no ice or any frozen condensation on the road where Camp stated she ran off the road.

An open wine cooler container was found in the center console. Camp admitted to drinking a beer three hours before the accident and smoking marijuana two hours before the accident.

She then admitted to smoking methamphetamine two days before the crash and she was also found to be in possession of ten grams of Marijuana, a pipe and one tablet of Xanax.

Camp was taken into custody and charged with neglect of a dependent, operating a motor vehicle-endangerment, possession of a schedule 4 drug, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

She was also cited for driving while suspended, no insurance, false fictitious registration, open container and child not properly restrained in child/booster seat.

Both Camp and her daughter were treated on the scene for facial injuries by Otter Creek Fire Department and Transcare.
