(COLUMBUS) - Police in Columbus say a man was arrested last week after robbing a family member and then dragging her across her house.

Around 5:30 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the 2400 block of 6th Street. Police spoke with a 67-year-old woman who said her family member forced his way into her home and shoved her to the ground.

The woman said her family member, identified as 25-year-old Michael S. Walker, grabbed a bottle of her prescription medication and her purse. When she tried to get the purse back, police say Walker dragged the woman across the house.

Police say Walker took the woman's keys and tried to drive away in her car. After she followed him into the vehicle, another fight began before he fled on foot. She suffered minor injuries from the altercation.

Walker was located and taken into custody later on Friday. He was booked into the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of robbery with bodily injury, a Level 3 felony, theft, a Class A misdemeanor, battery with bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor, and a Jennings County arrest warrant.
