Conservation Officers To Conduct Wildlife Checkpoint

(RIPLEY CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers will conduct a wildlife checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Ripley County from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on November 16th.

The checkpoint is intended to help enforce state and federal wildlife laws and to encourage safety and sportsmanship by promoting voluntary compliance with the laws and regulations.

Motorist should expect minimal delays and will be asked if they have been hunting or transporting wildlife. An affirmative answer will result in further inspection by Indiana Conservation Officers, which should also result in minimal delay.

Indiana Conservation Officers wish to remind hunters and anglers to make sure they are familiar with the fish and wildlife laws and regulations before entering the field. Information on Indiana's hunting and fishing laws can be found by visiting http://www.in.gov/dnr/lawenfor/2748.htm.

Citizens are encouraged to report violations of Indiana's fish and wildlife law's by calling the TIP (Turn in Poacher/Polluter) line at 1-800-TIP-IDNR (1-800-847-4367) or by visiting http://www.in.gov/dnr/lawenfor/7608.htm . The TIP line is operated 7 days a week, 24 hours per day.
