(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard says he talked it over at length with his wife and he has decided not to seek a third term.
He describes as a personal decision, unrelated to local politics. In fact, he says polls showed he had support among Democrats.
As he prepares for life after public office, the former Marine Lt. Colonel says he takes pride in the fact that his administration managed effectively "through the recession." And did so, he says, without the layoffs or other severe measures forced upon other big cities.
