Two Indiana Brothers Convicted In Texas Drug Case

(DALLAS, TX.) - Two Indiana brothers have been convicted in a synthetic marijuana ring involving North Texas smoke shops and convenience stores.

Barry Bays and Jerad Coleman of Fort Wayne, Indiana, remain in federal custody pending sentencing in Dallas.

Prosecutors on Tuesday announced Bays and Coleman were convicted of conspiracy to defraud the Food and Drug Administration, conspiracy to commit mail fraud and conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance analogue. Bays was also convicted of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and using a communication facility to facilitate a drug felony.

Bays owned Little Arm Inc., doing business as B&B Distribution in Fort Wayne and Defiance, Ohio. The case involves B&B-sold items marketed as incense and air freshener.

The brothers face possible prison terms of more than 40 years.
