Race Care Driver Arrested On Sexual Misconduct Charges

Last updated on Friday, October 10, 2014

(CLARKSVILLE) - A Clark County race car driver and mechanic accused of sexual misconduct with a minor appeared before a judge Thursday where he pleaded not guilty.

37-year-old Timothy Samples was arrested and charged after accusations surfaced about him engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old.

Police said the activity took place on three separate occasions; the most recent incident took place in a car that was stopped by Jeffersonville Police. They said Samples waived his rights and admitted to engaging in sexual conduct with the victim.

Samples is facing two separate charges in the case, a B felony and a Level Four felony, because the alleged acts took place before and after July 1 when new, lesser penalties for crimes like this went into effect.

Samples' family was in the court room and said he is innocent, and there are "two sides to every story."
He is being held on a $75,000 cash bond.
