(RANDOLPH CO.) - A former treasurer for the Monroe Township Parent Teacher Organization in Randolph County was arrested on a felony theft charge.
Police say 34-year-old Crystal Shellabarger took approximately $18,000 from PTO funds and made unauthorized, personal purchases.
Detectives began investigating Shellabarger in April 2013, after investigators were contacted by members of the PTO when they discovered discrepancies in the account.
Following a review of the PTO's financial records from September 2011 to April 2013, authorities arrested Shellabarger Wednesday night on one count of felony theft.
